We are now opening recruitment for this research running in September 2026 in London. Take part and get compensated for your time.

Minds in Motion is a neuroarchitecture study exploring how buildings shape the way people think and move. It takes place at UCL PEARL, and is led by Professor Hugo Spiers (UCL Experimental Psychology) and Dr Fiona Zisch (UCL Bartlett School of Architecture).

What participation involves:

Location: UCL PEARL, Dagenham, London.

Navigate a specially configured architectural space while wearing lightweight, non-invasive biosensors. No specialist knowledge or fitness level required.

Open to adults aged 18+ who can move around a large indoor space unaided. A few eligibility questions are asked when you book. Full details on duration and scheduling provided on confirmation.

There are two ways to take part. Pick whichever suits you and book a place:

Crowd session · £30

One visit, up to 2 hours, 15th–17th September. No equipment worn. Open to adults 18+ who can move around a large indoor space unaided.

EEG sessions · £60 · only 32 places

Two visits on different dates in September, wearing an EEG cap and eye-tracker. Some extra requirements apply to be eligible.
